Autoagent was born out of necessity in 2001.
After seeing tax offices struggle with outdated billing data, duplicate payments, and costly refunds, our founders built a web-based portal for the Cook County Treasurer’s Office in Illinois. That solution connected tax offices with their largest payers and became the foundation for EscrowCloud.
Today, EscrowCloud is Autoagent’s patented bulk escrow tax platform. It connects tax offices with banks, mortgage servicers, and other mass payers, providing current billing data and flagging problematic property tax payments before they reach the tax office.
Autoagent later acquired MuniciPay, expanding our government payment solutions to include secure online payments for taxes, utilities, permits, licenses, and more.
EquaPay followed at the request of the El Paso County, Colorado Treasurer’s Office. It allows homeowners, landlords, and property managers to manage large property tax bills through predictable, automated monthly payments.
Together, EscrowCloud, MuniciPay, and EquaPay create one connected government payments ecosystem. Each serves a distinct need, but all share one purpose: making payments simpler, clearer, and easier for tax offices, payers, and the people they serve.
